Many people consider Mimosas to be trash trees on the order of "Bradford Pear" aka Underwear Trees (which bloom in early spring) the blossoms of which smell rather like pre-worn underwear. Mimosas do litter the ground with their fuzzy blossoms in a rather untidy way, but I like them. They don't smell like underwear. I like to stand under them and listen, at firefly time on a summer night. The breeze sings differently through their leaves than other trees.
