My stepdaughter Ariel bought a digital camera while she was in India. The brand was "FashionCam," and I for one had never heard of it; but, it was functionable, that is, we could take pictures with it, unlike my abused and overused HP. The trouble was, we could not download the pictures from the camera to our family PC. The software disk that came with it was useless. However, today, a friend of Ariel's in India emailed her the driver. I managed to install said driver, and we achieved download. Ariel and I cut a deal, we'll share the camera, I'll buy the batteries. The gnome returns.
