light that grasps us in darkness,
light we will never grasp.

SUNRISE

41ST & HARVARD, TULSA, OKLAHOMA, 7:34AM CST

ON LEWIS JUST SOUTH OF 61ST ST, LOOKING ACROSS GOLF COURSE, 7:43AM CST
My car needed some work on the driver's side door handle, so Elspeth and I got up early this morning, had breakfast at Phill's Diner (yes, with two Ls), dropped off Mina (what a Chevy Lumina becomes after the LU falls off), and rode a carpool built for two to our respective places of employment. The morning was beautiful but chill, with frost glazing the grass and white mist hanging low over the ground. I've tweaked these dpics a bit, and added watercolor effect.

TRAVELLING SOUTH ON RIVERSIDE DRIVE, 6:11PM CST
These I took on the way to pick Els up this evening. I was driving with one hand and snapping pictures with the other through the passenger side window. In the first image, the black streaks are the blurred, disembodied limbs of passing trees. The bluish diagonal smudges that resemble cigarette smoke or a faint Aurora Borealis are my beagle's nose smudges on the car window, reflecting the automatic flash I hadn't bothered to turn off. I liked the effect I got after I tweaked these. I have an amazing amount of fun with my cheap little dcam.

FULL MOON OVER TULSA, CIRCA 9:30PM
At Xmas, my nephew gave me a lightweight telescoping tripod for my digital camera. I stepped outside for a few minutes tonight and took a series of dpics of the full moon. I liked this shot the best, the moon framed by tree branches, behind moving clouds; even a few stars visible.
