Today's hymn is dedicated to the Yezidis of northern Iraq aka Kurdistan.  The Yezidis are a remnant population of Zarathustrians or Enochians or maybe Chthuhluians living in the area around Basiqa among the more numerous Kurds, Arabs, and Turks.  They worship Melek T'aus, the Peacock Angel, known to the  infidel "people of the book" as Shaitan, or Satan.

Dr. Omed fears that the defeat of the tyranny of Saddam may loose lesser but no less fearful tyrannies upon minorites such as the Yezidis, and with the looting of the library and museums of Baghdad and Mosul, that the Shrine of the Yezidis in Kurdistan may suffer the depredations of the liberated and pious majority.   His Loveliness the Pope asks his cyber-seekers to pray for the Yezidis and the preservation of their shrine.

Gnostic Physics: The Peacock Angel

The angel sinned light.

First and prime spark

tapping out a binary

against the null egg

of zero-god.

Lucifer broke the invariant

and fell into existence,

from chaos into order,

with the weight of all matter

on his wings.

Photons are his children;

each an infinitesimal death-into-light,

unfurling the universe

along the binding curve

of his wings.
