POEM OF THE DAY The Poetic Difference Engine   The difference is the engine. Between poets and posers is the difference between serial killers and mass murderers is the difference between Ted Bundy and Adolf Eichmann.   The difference is the engine. Between poetry and slam is the difference between shooting smack and inhaling second hand smoke at the coffeehouse is the difference between playing russian roulette and playing paintball.   The difference is the engine. Between poets and poetry is the difference between parasites and their host, is the difference between fleas and the dog, remoras and the shark, mistletoe and the mighty oak.   And the posers and slammers stand under the mistletoe hoping for a kiss.
