A PRAYER IN PART

"Terror is the piety of revolution."

Tonatzin, little mother, Guadalupe, look,

I clasp my hands together, make the heart,

the rose in the flesh, look,

I lay my hands flat together, make the knife,

the stone knife of prayer.

Paper,

scissors,

rock.

What is your answer?

Many are the sons and daughters of la Llorona

who pull on the black hood,

all eclipse,

all king's x, y yo el rey digo

tag you're it.

They sheath their faces to become your weapons.

Tonatzin, little mother, Guadalupe, look,

I take the loop of string on my fingers.

Here is the cat,

here is the cradle,

here is the hangman's noose.

Look,

I cup my hands, make the chalice.

And this cup

shall not pass.

POEM OF THE DAY

How to POOH in a Dry Hole  to Dick Cheney and his friends at Haliburton

A found poem constructed of phrases taken verbatim from oil well operation reports.

Bleed well down.

Break out anchor and drains,

pump shoe and two jits.

Unland to donut

and gas anchor.

Drain gas anchor mud joint.

Install BOP.

Spud in.

Dry hole.

Plug and abandon.

Dry hole.

Fish in well consists of 16 jits.

Load hole with produced water.

POOH with guns,

POOH with kill string,

finish POOH with rods.

Bleed well down

Plug and abandon

dry hole.
