SCENIC TULSA: SPRING CHICKEN

Located at 129th St. East between 11th Ave. (Hwy. 66), and Admiral Blvd.
I intended to post the above image in honor of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Cock in the 12 year cycle of the Chinese horoscope, which happened to fall on Fat Tuesday aka Mardi Gras this year. But Fat Tuesday was also the day Dr. Omed broke his blog. Ms. Candide at feral very kindly gave the Doctor a home away from home in a spare category on her blog, and that Chinese New Year/Fat Tuesday entry was duly posted there, in case any pilgrims and seekers would like to read the text that went with the picture.

This little establishment deals in objets d'art concrets. Yard art for the midwestern suburbanite. I took these pictures last spring, but as far as I can remember the place had no signage or advertisement other than the poured concrete and plaster sculpture on display. I guess when you have the cock of the walk a sign is superfluous. Even a Sponge Bob Baptist in an SUV would sit up and take notice behind the tinted glass.

The vista.

The Santa scares me.

Birds of a plaster stick together.

My mother used to have chunks of colored glass in her garden.

These look like extras from Attack of the Killer Teddy Bears.

The frogs were the most sinister of all.

Sweet dreams.
