One Soldier's Story: Part 4

I've begun a new project here at Patriotically Incorrect. My cousin (we'll call him John) is an Army Reservist and I would like to support him by serializing his story, mostly in his own words. If you missed the beginning of this story, you can link to it here. Thanks for reading.

Dear [PI],

Grandma told me yesterday that John called her from Iraq the day before.  He was distraught.  He had just received a "Dear John" letter from [his fiancee], breaking off the engagement.

I feel utterly confident that John will find a good woman who loves him, and that he will become a good husband and a good father.  It's just hard for him to see that now.

Thought you'd want to know.

Love,
Mom
