A fellow walks into the shop this afternoon with a new iBook (does that sound like a setup to a joke? It is a joke -- the iBook, that is!). He tried to install a memory chip, but one of the screws holding the memory cover was installed so tight he stripped it.
He wanted to hire me to drill out the screw (!) so he could get the memory chip in. I told him I don't do drills, and I certainly don't do Macs, but that he could fool with my tools for a few minutes if he wanted to try and make a last gasp effort to get the screw out using conventional methods (I had no blow torch or explosives to offer him, either. Hah! And I thought I ran a well-stocked shop).
He accepted my tool-loan offer, and spent about twenty minutes trying, but he couldn't do it.
When will they learn? These Mac people, I mean?
