Blogs I Read
No, I'm not pregnant. Yet.
This is the story of two people who married a bit later in life who still want to have it all: the family, the pets, the house, the careers.
The People
Anita is a tenure track professor of psychology (not that kind of psychology) at an up and coming Southern university. Dave is the wonderful man who left Los Angeles and his fast track career to marry her. Can two people be this old yet still so naive to believe they can have successful careers, athletic lives, a clean house, and a station wagon full of kids. Will they be able to put the kids through college before they retire? Will they find the secret to balancing work and home that so many others have tried before? We shall see.
The Pets
The rest of their current family consists of three cats and one dog. Two cats are 11 year old litter mates named Scarlett and Savannah in a lame attempt to have cute Southern cats while actually coming from California . Their stepbrother, Duncan, actually is a Southern cat who has moved with Dave all over the US before returning to Charlotte, NC. Patches the puppy is a newly adopted rescue collie. He is serving as good practice for Dave and Anita to improve their parenting skills and to control deep seated sibling rivalry.
The Project
In the next year, Dave and Anita want to have or adopt a child, remodel their house, run another marathon, and further their careers. Can they do it without having their heads spin off of their bodies?
Stay tuned to see...
