Blogs I Read
We've spent this weekend with Dave's super cool cousin, Carol K. She's one of those incredibly modest, athletic, smart, pretty and NICE people that you'd like to hate if the modest and nice things didn't keep getting in the way.
Case(s) in point: We went to one of the museums in town The Mint Museum of Craft and Design yesterday, a really good museum in a town not known for them. She's whipping out insightful comments left and right connecting the pieces we're looking at to labor unions and the autobiography of Katharine Graham (the former Washington Post editor <--whom I just had to google to make sure I was right about the name). And not in a show off way, but in that inspiring way of "Hey! Here's a thought." And she and Dave are going Rock Climbing this afternoon, just the thought of which makes my palms sweaty. She climbs all over the place and skis and hikes and does yoga and weights. But she doesn't run. HA! Slacker! :-)
Of course, me being the athlete that I am, I'm skipping power yoga AGAIN. We're going to see our friend Catherine play the Brahams requiem and we're down to one car again despite Dave's recent visit to the dealership. (power yogaa 4:30, Brahms 5:00). So they are rock climbing and I'm making some chicken. Maybe I'll do a few sun salutations and down dogs while they are gone anyway. Just to spite them. Yeah. I like the idea of yoga as revenge. I'm imagining some sort of electrical storm over the yoga mat. I don't think those two energies can merge.
