Blogs I Read
Baby Stuff
OK. So this blog is about trying to start a family and trying to have it all. Just so every week I don't have to say "I'm not pregnant yet" let me go on record as saying we're hoping to have a baby within a YEAR not 9 months! As a prof/potential mom, I'm aiming for the end of next school year or sometime in the summer. There's a National Science Foundation Grant I really want to apply for that is due in July 2004, and anytime after that would work well. And given the fact that I'm an old hag, don't expect any news anytime in the near future.
However, I'm getting some great advice from my women folks out there on fertility. And yes, when my friend E. gave me her book The Unofficial Guide to Having a Baby, I did skip immediately to the 2nd chapter "The Overacheivers Guide to Getting Pregnant Fast", which, of course, she knew I would. The basic info there: how to create and read an ovulation chart.
I did that for one month and everything appeared to be hunky dory. The next month, everything appears to be "off." I don't know if my body decided to straighten up and fly right that one month because I was paying attention to it, or if my body is a big ol' freak. F. also gave me some good advice about that saying "same time every day and even one glass of wine will affect your temp." (So keep that in mind, folks)
Other information given to me recently
Ok! So now we have started a little collection of fertility sites! I will add more info as folks send them my way!
Yesterday's work-life balance scores:
- Work: ** (I actually did some stuff, but not enough)
- Life: *** (ran with friend, walked the dog, made a fun dinner, watched Buffy Finale)
- Shit: * (The house is a mess)
Today, a fancy schmancy interior designer is coming over (may be too stodgy for us) and we start advanced dog training not a woof too soon.
