I am so sick of this frickin' rain.

We've had rain going on 3 days now, and just yesterday, 5 inches of rain fell.  We actually have had more rain than Seattle this year.  Our back yard is a swamp.  The garden is flooded.  One sunflower just fell over, injured in the middle of its stem.  Wind trauma?  Errant dog?  (Dave, being clever, has staked it up; we'll see if it heals!

The good news is that the pole beans are actually growing this time.  Apparently, it helps to plant them.  But  the garden is full of standing water.  I even had to put the outdoor plants under the deck table to keep them from drowning.  Nothing is looking very healthy out there.

The dog, the cats, the mommy....all in the house all day long bugging each other.  One doggie bright spot.  In addition to the giggler chase ball being a hit, the very large, red "indestructable" plastic ball is also a big hit.  It's 10 inches in diameter and would be perfect for the back yard, if we weren't afraid it would float away right now.  Patches has been herding it all over the house.  Snout to ball pushing it and pawing it to move it where he thinks it should go.  This is going to be a great time and energy suck ONCE IT'S SUNNY.  (note the bitter tone of the typing)

The radar shows that we're almost out of this rain.    Bleah.
