Blogs I Read
We got up at 5:30 this morning to meet the group and run 10 miles. When we got up, it was sprinkling slightly. By the time we started, it was raining monkeys. One thing about running in the rain in the spring and summer--it's not nearly as bad as it looks. At 70 degress, it's not cold and the only really difficult part is navigating the massive mud puddles.
Now we are cleaning the house and finishing up our first big remodeling project: the Butt Ugly Bathroom (BUB). When we moved in here, BUB was spackle painted black and white. That's a bit much for me. And considering that it's a long thin room (3X10) with no windows and an odd set up (e.g., the toilet faces the bath tub and one cannot properly sit on it without having one's knees inside the tub), it was just overpowering in a very bad way. We painted BUB a light lemon yellow, which did not turn out as cute as I thought it would. H, the 2nd Interior Designer, said that it wasn't bad, but I probably expected/wanted a bit more saturation in the color. (I did). To finish up the project, we bought some new fixtures. The current ones are ugly and cheap and located in odd places. The new ones are cute and small and we think they may work better--for example, instead of a rack for the hand towels, we're going to use a towel ring. It's smaller and will get the job done. We still call it the BUB, but now it's the Bright Urban Bathroom.
We're going to have a movie date tonight. I'm looking forward to it!!
