We had the third doggie class last night. We did not train well this week and Patches essentially ignored us the whole class. He didn't look at me once while we were heeling, and "finish" never did. Betsy, the beagle, was in heat (that bitch!). That threw all the boys off according to the trainer. We saw a HUGE black and white Great Dane. It was HUGE. It looked like some pet Hagrid would keep at Hogwarts. Its head was at least up to my armpits. Patches went up to him (or her, I don't know) and stood with his head straight up trying to sniff this dog's nose. That dawg was HUGE. Funny story with the class: Isso, the Jack Russel terrier, tried to hump Phil, the wonder dog. Isso--15 lbs, 7 inches tall. Phil, 60 lbs, 2 feet tall. Isso has no idea how big he is (or isn't). Lexie the shepherd still hates Patches and everybody in the class knows it! It's like having your kid be the one the bully picks on.
Yesterday was actually pretty mellow. Reading articles in the morning. Kick-ass yoga at noon. Reading and cleaning in the afternoon. Doggie class at night. Collapse into bed. Up at 5:15 for a stunningly hot and humid run--even the hard core runners were a bit pooped. Today I meet with Large Technology Company* (LTC) to talk about a research project I hope I can do with them on telecommuters. I want to study how telecommuters manage the boundaries of work and home while they are working at home. I'm hoping this will lead to a bigger study in the future. It has the potential to be some interesting work. If it doesn't work with LTC, I'll have to recruit telecommuters from outside of any specific organization. I think it would be better to be within a single organization.
Ok--Off to work!
*Psych shit. Can't say real names of research participants at any time or any place.
