Grrrrreat. Tropical Storm Bill should be making its way to Carolina by nightfall. We expect to see significant accumulation through Wednesday. At least the rain barrel will fill back up.
The other "healthy" sunflower keeled over yesterday. It took a nose dive across the cantalope plany and into the peppers. Its stem had completely rotted out---too much rain.
We have two eggplants eggplanting away. The peppers have not grown since we planted them. I think fried green tomatoes are on the menu for this week. Did I mention that Dave and I had stuffed baked squash blossoms on Saturday night!? Yummmmmmy! They are very savory but light. Yum! yum! That's the cure for squash gone crazy--eat them before they can become squash. The chard are growing much better now. Soon we'll have fresh chard to sautee or steam. Yuuuuuummmmmm!
Off to work. I must think some great thoughts this week. I'm behind on everything.
