It's amazing what one can get done by getting up early and NOT running.  Dave got up about 5:30 am to get ready for his 6:30 run with the group.  I rolled out of bed at 5:45 am upon hearing a loud hissing noise and the tippy tip tip telltale sound of nails running along the floors, that being Scarlett and Patches' Good Morning to each other.  Dave said Scarlett and Duncan were in the room with us all night but they didn't hop onto the bed for any kitten cuddles that I can recall.

So Dave left for the run.  I read the paper.  Took the dog on an hour long walk/training session.  Went to the farmer's market for some fresh South Carolina Peaches which are NOTHING like what you can buy in the grocery store.  Seriously.  I won't even eat the grocery store peaches they taste so much like styrofoam balls.

Today I'm going to clean up the house!  WOOOHOO!  We "picked up" the house yesterday, finally putting away all the laundry we folded but had left on the bed.  Now they have a nice layer of black and white fur, a gift from Duncan.  I'm also going to make some homemade Peach Ice Cream from the NY Times Sunday Magazine recipe last weekend.  We'll see!  Catherine is coming over for a "cook out" later on.  In the south, we have cook outs, not barbeques.  I remember when I moved up north and I was invited over for a barbeque and I was amazed that people were going to roast a pig for just a casual weekend get together.  I was still veggie at that point, so I brought my own veggie burger and I remember being surprised that all they had were burgers and dogs.  That was the first time I realized that in the South, barbeque is a noun; in the North and everywhere else, it's a verb.

Dave's home!!  Blueberry pancakes here we come!
