We picked up the wedding pictures yesterday!  The album turned out really well, and the extra pictures are nice.  We had a portrait done of Dave's humongous family which looks really, really good.  We had a more "photojournalism" style than the standard portrait pictures.

OK.  So the photographer has a online site of choice photos from the recent weddings he's done, and it is addictive to go to.  We check it every couple of weeks to see the latest weddings.  I have not posted many web sites on this blog, but this one is a lot of fun.  One truth I've learned?  All brides are beautiful.  Another truth?  My favorite picture of me is a close up of the bouquet in which my head is not in the picture!  You can make your own judgements about that.

The Saga of The Cornstarch Bone:  Part 2

Recall from yesterday that Patches wanted to bury his new cornstarch bone in the yard and I was able to rescue it before he accomplished his collie driven mission.  Wellllllll, yesterday afternoon, Patches was being very good and looked in need of a new bone, so I shut the doggie door and gave Patches his bone inside the house.  He played with it for a while and then we went outside to play for a while together (the bone was still inside).  I came back in and soon afterwards a very loud thunk unfortunately reminded both of us that the doggie door was still closed.  I opened the doggie door to let Patches in and checked for signs of a concussion as he shook it off.

Not five minutes later, it occurred to me: THE BONE.  I check under the kitchen table.  Gone.  I go outside and Patches is standing in the yard looking at me with the cornstarch bone in his mouth.  He's not moving.  He's just watching me watching him.  Whatever.  I'm tired of chasing him.  I convinced myself that he's just going to enjoy a nice chew out in the yard in the late afternoon.  I go back in the house.  Patches does too, sans bone.  That son of a bitch buried it.  (I know it's ok to use bitch because my collie listserv group uses it!)  So he won.  The bone is out there somewhere.  I checked around the usual spots that he considers his 401K-9 retirement accounts and couldn't find anything.  I just hope he makes a withdrawal before the next rainy day.

Final lesson from yesterday, do not, and I mean do NOT, get on the site Adoptuskids if you are not ready to start the adoption process.  There are some amazing children out there looking for a home, and it's just too painful to have to say, Not Yet.
