To be honest, I'm not sure now why Dave and I were so keen on getting all three kitties to sleep with us.  I went to sleep last night with Duncan under one arm, Cole under the other and Scarlett spread across my feet.  Throughout the night, it was a game of musical kitties as every time either Dave or I moved, someone leaped into range of a free hand and engaged in some not so subtle head butts looking for a cuddle.

Fortunately, Patches is no longer getting hysterical every time a cat walks by.  He's saving it for whenever he hears Scarlett and Cole hissing at each other.  (note:  not a rare occurrence)  Apparently, he can't stand to hear them hiss which is ironic because he is the main instigator of hisses in the household.

I've been trying to talk Dave into getting a kitten, and with Cole here, I am thinking an addition would be nice for everyone.  I think Patches would like to have a playmate and neither Duncan nor Scarlett are willing.  I also think Scarlett and Duncan would do well with a new unthreatening kitty addition.  And a kitten might very well serve as a bridge from the cat worlds to the dog world.  We'll wait and see.  (Besides the title of this is "And Baby Makes SEVEN"....and right now we're only five, and I'm not expecting to have twins)

I didn't take Patches running with me this morning and I think he missed it.  I know we sure missed it when he was completely wound up before breakfast running around the house and barking enough to make the appliances ring.  (You know, that is not just a figure of speech.  Something in our kitchen echoes when he barks.)  We did between 3 and 4 miles yesterday and he seems great today.  No limping and clearly enough energy.  Next week, I may bump up his runs to 3 days per week.  As long as he's not limping, he's fine.  And several people asked where he was on the run today.  Awwwww.  He's so cute!!

Finally, I've noticed that more than a few people are finding this blog through searching for problems with a cat and insulin, cat illnesses, giving shots to cats, feline diabetes, and other scary problems (the most troublesome search was cat throwing up blood).  If you find this blog through a search on cat disease, feel free to email me and I will let you know what I know and more importantly what you should ask and expect from your vet.  Seriously, Dave and I have some experience on needles, pills and cats.  You can email me by clicking on the little envelop at the bottom of this page.

Off to work.  No I did not have my car inspected yesterday, I was running behind schedule and besides I'm a bad wife car owner.  I'm going TOMORROW.
