Laboring on Labor Day

I'm glad that the labor day weekend is over so Dave and I can get a little rest from all the house chores.  We are mostly finished with the Study.  It looks by far the best it's looked since we moved in.  We still need to take a few things to the garage and throw away all the paper we shredded, but all in all, the study is in better shape.

I've also decided to stop running with the dog for a while.  He loves starting but then gets cranky about 1.5 to 2 miles into it.  I think it's too hot and humid for him right now.  When I'm slowing down and doing less (hopefully, when preggers!!), I'll see if he wants to join back in then.  My achilles tendon is also a little tweaked, too.  After my tumble down the stairs in Myrtle Beach, it has been painful on my runs.

Other than that, I'm freaking out about how much work I have to do again.  I turned in my reappointment file for work last week.  Thus far, word is good from those who have the power.  My department review committee, the chair of the dept, the dean of the college, the university provost and the university chancellor all have to review it and determine that I do not, in fact, suck so I can have my contract renewed.  If I get reappointed, the next biggie will be when I go up for tenure in 3 years.  I have to be doing work right now to have everything in place when I go up in 3 years.  Oh.  Joy.

Bleah.  I feel very fat.
