Blogs I Read
I was planning on blogging today about how hellish work is and its potential to remain a trip through the bowels of Satan's lair for the rest of the semester.
But then last night Dave and I went to dinner with one of his residents. Dave works at an upscale assisted living community and one of the residents invited Dave and me and another couple to dinner before the annual Hoedown! What a hoot! I was having a pretty crappy day and that certainly made up for it. This place is truly amazing. It's a great place to work although I would love to live there after Dave and I move past "a certain age." (Note: We could never afford it without better lotto numbers!) They have a really active social life---night before last was a cocktail party. Last night was the hoedown and I'm sure today or tomorrow more things are happening. Everyone is dressed up and active and flirty and fun. And even better--everything happens early so Dave and I could still get to bed at our regular old fart time.
Catherine came over last night and we watched the Boy meets Boy finale. I would like to point out that I was totally right on Franklin. And that James should have chosen Brian. Wes is not for him long term. Pathetically, I do want to know what is up though---and if they are still dating. Meanwhile, back at the bungalow, we're still debating 1) how lame the show was 2) how mean the show was for duping James and 3) how lame we are for getting caught up in it.
Worrisome note: Duncan did not eat breakfast this morning. That is akin to saying that the tide did not come in at the beach this morning. I saw him drink a little water, but he definitely out of sorts. N.G. I have to teach late tonight and Dave is going to be swimming until late. So I decided to work at home a bit this morning and see if anything happens. We heard him eat a leaf last night when we went to bed. ANd then about 2 a.m., we heard him yak it back up. All normal kitty things---but it usually doesn't cause him to lose his appetite. If he doesn't eat tonight, then we'll take him to the vet first thing tomorrow morining. Poor kitty.
OK. Must write great thoughts. hahahahah.
