I Love My Belly
Granted, I still look "fat" instead of pregnant. But I cannot keep my hands off my belly. I am constantly rubbing and holding and petting my burgeoning belly. At night, when I roll over, I've got one hand on the buddha. When I sit in meetings at work, I've got a paw where I think the bun is. I've spent most of my life trying to hide whatever excess baggage I've got there. Now I want to flaunt it.
Here's some weird stuff: I try to sleep on my side because you're not supposed to sleep on your back when pregnant. The reason? The weight of the bun might compress some arteries and cut off blood supply to both mom and baby. So I'm really trying to sleep on my side. The weird thing is that in the morning, the baby has shifted over to the side I'm laying on. So, I have this mound of belly that's off center in my midriff. It is weird as hell. And as soon as I roll over or start moving around it goes back to normal, but that is a funky ass weird feeling.
Also, I'm sure now that at least some of the gas movement I've felt over the last few weeks was actually the bun fluttering around. I think I said this yesterday, but I'm still in shock over it. I also have to admit that even beyond the bodacious ta tas, feeling him moving about inside me is one of the coolest things I've experienced in my life. It's one thing I've been looking forward to if I ever got pregnant, and it is pretty honkin' cool.
We're supposed to get 1 to 2 inches of snow tomorrow. I don't believe it. We'll see what happens.
