Doctor's Visit

I just got back from the 5 months along Doctor's visit.  No big whoop although Dave got to hear the baby's heartbeat through the doppler for the first time.  Cool, but not as good as the ultrasound!  My weight gain is "average".  According to my scales at home I've gained two less lbs than the doctor's scale says.  He said that was better; I'm gathering that the amount the doctor's office says is a wee bit on the high side.  I still wonder if at my height and my exercise level if I should really worry.  The only thing is that I did eat quite a bit more unhealthily than normal on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I didn't exercise those days.  And that's when I actually popped on about 2 lbs.  So, that's why it's a bit more than I would have liked.

Anyhoo, it was a 15 minute visit tops.  I just thought they'd spend more time seeing how things were going versus get the pregnant women in, weight 'em, make 'em pee, check their blood pressure, listen for fetal heartbeat and head 'em out.   The next visit should be about the same thing, too.  OH!  I did mention that I can't sleep through the night, and he said, essentially, welcome to being a Mom.  This 3:00 am wake up may happen for a very long time--all through pregnancy, breastfeeding and beyond.  It's starting to catch up with me now.  I've been getting pooped at work in the mornings.

Oh Joy.  Must go be productive.
