A picture named Belly Bump.JPGHalfway Mark

On Friday, I started the 20th week o' bun cooking.  That means that I have officially hit the halfway mark.  Or as Dave and I figured out, I've been pregnant for-frickin'-ever and now I'm heading into the twice for-fricking-ever range.

Bunny has been pretty active in the last 12 hours.  I'm still not feeling tons of "flutters" but I do think I can tell when he's swimming about.  Last night, his was definitely hanging out near the top of my uterus and I could feel the little hard bump of him clearly through my skin.  Actually he's not so little anymore.  I could cup the hard spaces into my hand...and that's how I went to sleep, holding him in my hand.  Dave got to feel him this morning when we woke up.  It was a much smaller hard space, but Dave could definitely feel it and could tell it was different from the regular uterus feeling.  (And it's been a long, long while since anyone has described any part of my belly as "hard".)

The books all have different estimates of what size he should be about now.  The Pregnancy Week by Week book completely underestimates how big he should be.  They are saying he should be 8 ounces and 6.1 to 6.3 inches.  That's how much they said he was at the ultrasound two weeks ago!!  I thought babycenter.com estimated his weight to be at 10 ounces, which would seem about right.  But now, of course, I can't find that reference!!

Speaking of babycenter.com, I do recommend it for moms and dads to be.  They have pretty good bulletin boards for a whole host of subjects as well as "birth clubs" for folks giving birth in a certain month.  Both are pretty good resources to find out how "normal" or not things are going on.

As the belly bump picture may show, I'm feeling bigger and bigger, helped not at all by the fact that I only worked out once this week.  This week will be a much more active week at the gym.  Today, I'm heading in for a little stairmaster and eliptical training.  I can't do one of those for an hour (too boring)...but I can do both for 30 minutes.

bloggus interruptus...

Dave was in the attic checking on our leaks when I heard an "OH SHIT!"  That's never a good phrase to hear from one's spouse.  Fortunately, it was just Scarlett, the adventure kitty, up to no good.  She's finally gotten brave enough to follow Dave up the attic ladder, and was exploring the attic on her own.  Dave was able to capture her and bring her down the ladder to the great delight of Patches who looooooves to see Scarlett get in trouble.  The bad news is that Dave hears water dripping over the green room, so he's getting on the roof to finish brushing the snow off.  Hopefully, we'll get the new roof this week.

Off to prepare for this week's classes.
