Let the Weeping Begin

Whether that's weeping from the poison ivy blisters or weeping about the poison ivy blisters, I'm not quite sure.  One thing that worries me is that I'm still breaking out.  I have "established" blisters on my forearms and calves.  I have new blisters on my thighs, belly, and upper arms.  I'm also pretty sure that most of the flea bites I was complaining about last week were my first mild poison ivy reactions.

And yes, I was boasting last week of being one of the few people without allergies to poison ivy.  I even boasted to myself while I was actually doing it that I was a lucky woman to be insensitive to it.  Additional reading has convinced me that I was insensitive to it if I worked in it once a month.  But three days in a row was just too much for this body to handle.

The good news is that the OB says that being pregnant with poison ivy had no effect on the baby.  That's the good news.  The bad news is when the triage nurse said, "Bless your heart" and being a true southern woman, I responded, "I know!"

Last night I woke up scratching and put the medicine on that I'd put by the bed just in case.  I was so awake that I thought it must be 4:30 or so and about time to wake up and end a hellish night.  I looked at the clock:  12:44 a.m.  I'd just gotten to sleep!  I got up and ended up puttering around the house and finally got back to sleep at 2:00.  At 4:00, I actually did wake up, but was simply glad to see it wasn't 2:30.

I've got a call in to the my regular doctor to see if I can use Dave's prescription creme for poison ivy.  I'm hoping to hear some good news from him today.

Bun news:  he's started kicking during the day now.  During a meeting yesterday, he gave me a good whack on the right side; I think he's lying sideways and his head is on my left and his legs are on my right.  It was so cool to feel that connection during a business meeting.  So cool indeed.
