My Pre-Pregnancy Body, More or Less

Well, there is definitely good news in the weight loss department.  I’m within a 2 to 3 lb range of my pre-pregnancy weight.  Best news of all is that I haven’t been doing anything diet-y to get there.  I have not had time to exercise and won’t, probably, until after the New Year.  And Lord knows, I have not been dieting.  It just seems that starting around 4 months after Conor was born, my body started to loose weight again at a rate of about 1 lb per week.  So good news all you breastfeeding chicks out there:  the weight loss does happen but there are a few months of plateau before it kicks in.

That’s the good news.  The bad news is that although my weight is close to what it was, someone has come in the middle of the night and surgically attached a water balloon to my belly.  There’s some serious Santa jiggle going on down there.  I can grab a serious handful of flesh starting at my hips and going around to my belly.  NO!  I have not been doing my sit ups.  Whatever!  Again, once the New Year starts and I’m back at work and Conor is in daycare and I can find 45 minutes at lunch to exercise, I’m hoping to work everything back into its semi-original shape.

Nonetheless, there’s one body part that’s going to stay big.  Not my boobs!  I’m ready to trade those back in for my athletic ones.  It’s my feet.  They have grown a full half size.  Well, it actually may be a full size, with no half about it.  They are not officially huge.  I am happy though because it seems they just grew forward and not sideways.  When shoe shopping on Tuesday, I could wear the regular shoes not the wide shoes.  They were just in a humongous size.  That’s fine by me.  Wide shoes are really hard to find and usually ugly.  I’ll take bigger if they can be more normal.

OK.  There’s fussing to take care of now.
