I'm a little hippie...And I don't just mean my jeans are too tight.

That's the phrase I told Conor's daycare teacher this week just before she turned her head and burst out laughing.  I was explaining our views on eating and that we had just started feeding Conor solid food at 6 months of age, way past when everyone else does, but at the time recommeded by breastfeeding advocates. He's liking it, but our plan, per all the advice we've read is to still make breastmilk his primary source of nutrition.  (more on eating later)  And I explained to Ms. D that we wanted to bring our own food in to daycare, and asked what her experience was with that.  She paused a minute and replied that we're the first people ever to want to do that.

Yes, I am a little bit hippie.  In fact, I'm probably much more of a hippie, crunchy, granola Mom that I give myself credit for.

And on a much more pathetic note, can I just add how sad I am to hear that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are breaking up?  I'm not really fans of either of them, but it seemed like they were into each other and had it together as a couple.  I hope they decide to give it one more try.

Must go prepare bottles of expressed breastmilk for daycare and finish my first week of fulltime work.
