Holy Frelling* Cow

It’s been a crazy week.  I have been working stunningly late this week, and there’s no crunch.  I’m just doing regular stuff.  Holy. Freakin’. Cow.  This whole work-family balance thing is going to be really challenging.  I see a new area of research in my future.  The research stream is actually not that new for me:  telecommuters/virtual workers and work-family balance.  But it realllllly interests me now.  (And I’ve mentioned that I also study sense of virtual community?  I don’t use this blog in my study, but ironic, isn’t it?)

And once again, yesterday morning, I checked Dr. Sears to get some validation on our current lack o’ sleeping/all night nursing issues.  And I have to be honest with you:  I stopped at question 1.  It’s not that big of a deal.  I am tired, but in a few years Conor will be too old to cuddle with us and pat our faces and snuggle up.  At some point, we’ll wean the nighttime feedings, but for now, it’s worth it.

In fact, check out Defective Yeti this week.  How can you resist it???

I love being a Mom.  I love my son.  I love my husband.  I love getting up in the night and scooping him out of his crib and snuggling with him the rest of the night.  Despite how many times I hit the snooze alarm, I do love it.

*we’re reducing our cussing, which for me is not the easiest thing I’ve done.  (if you press your ear against your computer screen and listen hard, you can hear the blue tapestry I’ve woven in and around my own existence.  I’m actually quite good and colorful, but it is profane)  Frelling is a cussword from Farscape.  Pathetically, Dave keeps correcting my pronunciation because as a southern chick, I pronounce it frail.  That is wrong.
