Blogs I Read
I hate to start this week on such a bad note (i.e., yesterday's post). It still bugs me and I still perceive the NY Times article as saying that parents who blog are narcissistic, hand wringing, self absorbed whiners (because pretty much, that's what they said). And I still go one step further and say that they are at least implying that parents (and I perceived from the article, mothers in particular) should not have lives, thoughts, beings outside of their children, which seems to me to be wrong on so many levels. It's never been that way, and it's sexist and a backlash to imply otherwise.
That said...I had a great day yesterday. Equal parts of working on scholarly stuff, being a mommy (ME!), cleaning the house and eating. The only thing better would have been a good workout, but if I don't get out the door as soon as I wake up Sunday mornings, that just doesn't easily happen. So I'm still fat. But I'm happy.
Off to conquer my job, hives and all.
