Those of you visiting from Chez Miscarriage....

Welcome, and feel free to look around.  You can go here to my latest entry and here to read more ranting and raving about a mother.

Other Mothers

Last night, Dave and I had our neighbors over.  She is due any day now with their first child.  At one point, I asked her how she was feeling.  “Like I have cramps and my back is starting to hurt,” she replied.  I just started laughing.  I can see their house from here and I’m constantly looking for lights or activity to figure out if they’ve gone to the hospital or not.

Having dinner with them brought back so many memories of things I never thought I would forget.  It also helped me realize that giving birth to Conor, despite it being so scary at the time, was one of the best days and weeks of my life.  My wedding day is the only day that can compete, and to be honest, since I got to drink champagne for an entire day and night, that was objectively much more fun.  But I really, really hope I can have that experience again, both drinking champagne all day and having a baby.  And who knows, those two events may actually be related!

I’m running late today.  I’d like to direct you over to Chez Miscarriage for a scathing and funny take on how women are criticized for their parenting choices.  Also, Julia on Here Be Hippogriffs has some great news from her IVF.  And Suburban Bliss is just damn funny.

I like to fantasize that if I was less exhausted, I, too, could write witty entries like theirs.  Hence, I have just bought the No Cry Sleep Solution (Sears approved).  I’ll let you know how that works.  (BTW, don’t buy full price parenting books from Amazon.  There are dozens of places that sell brand new books off Amazon in which the only problem is they have a black mark somewhere on them).  So I bought the book so that in two or so weeks, I’ll be sleeping better.  It’s still all about me, right?  I’m tired of being too tired to feel funny.
