Back on Earth

Yes, yes, we went on vacation without having time to tell everyone we were going.  I know....slack parents.....but it was tougher packing and loading up the car and just tougher getting out than expected.  I'm not kidding when I say we pulled out of the driveway and were on the road when we realized we had absolutley NO IDEA how to get to where we were going.  I'm mean, not even how to get to the city, much less where we were staying!!!  (Fortunately my dad had sent directions in an email giving us door to door directions)

We were at the beach and it was a blast.  The baby took a while to warm up to the waves and sand (which is unusual considering how hot both the ocean and the sand were).  Nonetheless, it was fun and we were good enough parents to keep our son from frying.  It also helps that our friends had a big canopy/tent we hung out under a lot of the time.

It's going to be crazy around here as we get ready for school to start back up and my mom to come play Granny Nanny for two weeks. (Thanks, Mom!)  Note to self:  no more vacations the week before school starts.  It's too hard to focus on relaxing.

More later including, hopefully, some beach pix.
