The more things change….

Yes, yes.  So hopefully, my new blog name will take effect and I won’t lose anyone.  In an effort to be clever this morning, I set up my account so I could email entries to the blog and as a result, I completely erased the email in my Earthlink inbox.  The other emails that I had filed are still there, but I have lost all the emails I was planning on responding to but had not quite done so yet.

And of course, that sucked away all other delusions of cleverness that I might have harbored.  That along with the fact that there was no sleep in the former And Baby Makes Seven household last night.  The monkey had the sniffles and we knew early on that there would be no sleep.

How did we know, you ask?  Well, Conor’s waking up crying every 45 minutes with a runny nose and a demand for the breast was our first clue the night would, ahem, suck.  We ended up bringing him in about 1:00 a.m. and the rest of the night involved tiny angry baby fisted whacks on my chest, violent pint size squiggles as our son tried to find a comfortable spot and push us off a queen size bed, and an occasional foot to the head in those rare five minutes when he’d roll over to Dave and snuggle with him.  Apparently, in baby culture, when you snuggle with one parent while sleeping, it is imperative to kick the other.  Who knew?  It’s certainly not my favorite part of the evening to find my son’s foot trying to push its way into my mouth.

OK.  I must do a chore.  I have no choice.  An item must be checked off my list.  I have a ton to do this afternoon, and I cannot sit any longer fantasizing about a full night’s sleep without a kick in the head.
