Baby Info

Not that kind.  Just more information I have learned in the last few weeks of googling about fertility.  The most startling bit of information was yesterday's discovery that even if a couple has intercourse on the day of ovluation, their chance of conceiving "goes up" to 35%.  Geez Lou Frickin' Weeze.  That seems pretty low to me.  My office neighbor and I tried to figure out the statistics over a couple of months.  We think it's the OR option (the probability of getting pregnant in month 1 OR month 2 OR month 3) which we think means the addition of probabilities to close to 100%: IF you were able to time intercourse on the day of ovulation, you could expect to take 3 months to get a bun in the oven and IF there are no other problems and IF the couple's actual chance of conception is 35% for the good timing.  That's a lot of ifs.  I saved the link to that site at work, so I'll post it on a comment when I get to my work computer.

Additionally, I've become super sensitive to any sign that could be related to pregnancy. (Is sneezing an early sign of pregnancy?  What exactly does morning sickness feel like?  Is it different from being stress nausea?!)  The thing I have found/believe is that the signs don't start with a vengeance until after implantation and I did find a web site that said "many" women don't feel anything until after they've missed their period. (How many is "many"?  What's the percentage distribution of pregnant and not pregant women feeling what on X days past ovulation?  That's a pretty easy study to develop. Why is that information not readily available where I'm googling?)  Of course, all my friends say otherwise--they felt X immediately, so I don't know.  I do know that I don't feel anything right now.

Bleah.  Lots of things to think about when I should be working hard.

Things are fine with the Zoo.  Patches has been a very good dog this week.  We've been herding every morning and evening.  Sergio is developing his own personality.  We put a mirror up to the acquarium and he defended his space with puffed out gills and lots of strong swimming.  Of course, he also puffs out his gills when I stick my big head to close to the glass.  I suppose my big hair and I are quite frightening zooming in close to his world.  Imagine a giant whose head is as big as your house looking in your window.  Yeah.  You'd puff up too.  He likes to look at us and what we are doing in the kitchen.  Get a fish for a pet:  low maintenance and cute.

Off to work.  I'm late.
