A Big Pile of Dirt
We're getting a 16 ton pile of "high quality" lawn dirt delivered in about 20 minutes. 16 tons, my friends. That's a lot of wheelbarrow trips for my man and me over the weekend. The good new is that we're going to save $1900 by hauling the dirt from the driveway to the pit in our backyard instead of paying the landscapers to do it. The bad news is that we're going to be very, very sore by Monday. And our arms may have stretched a few inches by then, too.
I think that is definitely worth $1900!
I have to say that I truly laughed out loud over Jenn's comment yesterday. I'm glad to see I'm not the only woman poking myself and then wondering if I'm sore because I poked myself or because I'm pregnant. I'm really not feeling anything consistent during this week. I had a very strong metallic taste in my mouth on Wednesday, which is supposed to be a "sign," but I don't have it anymore. After class last night, I was so tired my arms were throbbing, but I feel fine this morning. I'm been consistently getting a bit nauseaus after I eat, but according to what I read, morning sickness is nausea before you eat. I know from experience that stress nausea occurs after I eat.
A bit of good baby news: I ran into a colleague who has recently had a baby and who is about my age. I asked her (invasively) if she had problems, she said she did and she'd love to share her story and advice. The good news, she said, was that our insurance was "amazing." They covered everything she requested. I started crying when she told me that. The North Carolina State Employees insurance is the worst I've ever had and I have been assuming that they would make us pay for everything out of pocket. The thought that if we do actually need help that it would be covered was overwhelming to me. But it is embarrassing to be a professor standing out on campus with tears streaming down one's face.
OK. Must wait for dirt and then go work like a wild woman today.
