Woke up this morning to the news Ralph Nader is now going to run for this nation's highest office. I interviewed him once. He has a huge ego, and he's knows he can't win. What's the point?
On the other hand, if John Kerry is the Democratic nominee I don't know how I can vote for him either. I feel sick about politics in this country; the lack of choices, the endless crap churned out by both sides. No wonder I've been reading lots of books on the Beats, Jazz, and art.
All I can do is keep my head down and hope for the best. I'm 51 years old, and we have the same bullshit going on now as we did back in 68 when I was kid. The only difference is there's no civil unrest, and the neo-cons in America seem to be in control from talk radio to the campus.
So in some sense it's worse now than ever with no end in sight.
One week to go until my opening at the Mars Gallery with two other artists. By this time next week it will be over, and the show will run until March 20th.
Buy my art!
New music! The new Tom Russell cowboy CD, he'll be here April 10th, and the latest from Rodney Crowell with some Coltrane thrown in for good measure.
