Is the Democartic Party dead or dying? The Green Party took out a full page ad in this morning's NYT. Then there's this story on CNN:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/11/16/senate.democrats.ap/index.html

Got a call from Tom Russell. He's a close friend. If you haven't checked out his music you ought too. Anyway, I'm going to record an interview with him to be put out on a promo CD for his new Charles Bukowski theme CD "Hot Walker." It will be out some time next year. Speaking of Tom got some Russell on right now.

And finally Bush keeps right on going creating his own reality:

PARIS (AP) -- In Europe, it's hard for some to think of Condoleezza Rice -- Colin Powell's expected replacement as U.S. secretary of state -- without recalling the low points in trans-Atlantic relations that grew out of the war in Iraq.

After all, it was Rice who raised eyebrows last year with her Machiavellian suggestions for how Washington should treat European opponents of the U.S. led invasion.

"Punish France, ignore Germany and forgive Russia," Rice was widely quoted as telling associates in the spring of 2003.

Trans-Atlantic ties have since improved to some extent. But Rice's reputation still precedes her.
