Aaron Fineman is my friend who is a photographer and lives in New York.
Caitlin Beck is my highschool best friend. She's an amazing artist, currently living in Atlanta but rumored to be moving soon.
Ron Purdy is my cousin. He's a photographer who also lives in New York.
Siobhan is a girl that I was friends with a few years ago in college. This is also the first blog I ever read.
Nathan Alexander is a guy that I went to highschool with but who I haven't spoken to in 6 years. He runs a pretty funny site.
Places I Work or Have Worked
Student Traveler Magazine - I started working for these guys a couple of months ago. It's a cool magazine and a cool job.
Citysearch - I started freelancing here a couple of months ago too. Mostly restaurant and spa reviews.
Ingenue Magazine - I did some freelance writing for these guys last month - a couple of profiles of Hollywood industry bigwigs. The magazine is just starting up and the first issue should be out in September 2003.
Vanity Fair - Ahh, Vanity Fair. The two months that changed my life forever...
Time Out New York - Did a five month internship here in Spring of 2002. Wrote 13 restaurant and bar reviews as well as 2 features for the annual Student Guide. By far, the coolest place I've ever worked. Why oh why isn't there a Time Out LA?
Republic - The restaurant that I worked in for four years in New York. If you've lived in NYC in the past 6 years, then you have probably eaten here. Working there was like being in highschool all over again. I'll never forget it.
My Education
Galloway - This is where I went to highschool, in Atlanta. It's a really small private school that caters to artistically minded kids. Some people say that it teaches you nothing about the real world but in fact, it taught me to fuck the real world and do things my own way. So far it's working out for me.
Marlboro College - The college version of Galloway where I went right after highschool. It's up on a mountain in southern Vermont, 20 miles away from anything. There are only 250 students and they were all just as fucked up as I was. If it had been in a city atmosphere it might not have felt like such an asylum. I only lasted two semesters before I moved to NYC.
The New School - The college in Manhattan that I eventually earned my BA from. A great school if you're seeking anonymity and an un-college atmosphere. It also has a great writing program and fabulous financial aid.
