I find this fascinating... No sooner had I bemoaned the absence of great-horned owls yesterday morning than I heard one calling from nearby. Also on the list of the missed--red-breasted sapsuckers. Here's what I found lying in the "dead, dry wheatgrass" not 20 feet from my door this evening. (Sorry if it grosses you out. I'm just used to picking up this stuff.) 5:47:27 PM    comment []
