![]() SNOW. I'm trapped, surrounded by a coalition of Christmas trees. High so far of 22 degrees. I dreamed of Yoda brought to me half-alive, the tips of his ears chewed blunt by whatever had captured him. Last night my friend cooked chorizo spaghetti sauce for us. The best spaghetti I ever had. He had to saturate his frozen truck door with hot water and thaw the hubs to turn them to 4WD before he could drive home at 10pm. Temp was below 10. I'm printing resumes and cover letters today. Can't mail any until I can drive out. We should have a melt soon. This is the first year since I moved up here in January 1999 that winter has come this early. I predict we'll have some interesting experiences in the course of a winter this long. A real test. Will we pen the Great Novel on those long dark days, or finally develop an interest in consciousness-altering substances? Time will tell. My beautiful granddaughter turns 2 a week from tomorrow. I hope the weather clears long enough for me to drive down and give her a kiss on both cheeks and hand her a wonderful gift. I hope the cobwebs clear long enough for me to pin down what constitutes a "wonderful gift" for a strong, passionate 2-year-old... Any recommendations? 1:24:15 PM |
