More cold, more snow. The llamas so happy to get their morning grain and hay. You can only gobble so many juniper berries...

More juncos come to the feeders now. Little snowbirds in twos and threes instead of our solitary diner. As the dark season drags on, maybe other birds will notice the fluttering in the sheltered place where our birdfeeder tree grows and come to check it out. I hung the suet hangers but never have bought suet. I should make my own this year. If I do, and if it turns out well, I'll post the recipe.

Here's a mirroring exercise from this morning:

I gave in finally and sat
up hopeless of sleep
and found I moved
into light. At my right hand
shone the beam's white
source, the blazing quarter moon,
horns held upward to the right
in the steep direction of its climb.
Far behind and lower a bright
planet followed. And soon
the horns became a mighty
ox that ahead of its companion
ploughman grooved
a hidden colter deep
across the midnight plat.
