Peaceful day today. Awoke after a night of healing dreams--reunions with estranged loved ones--to a drizzle, which grew to steady rain, which turned to snow midafternoon. It's still coming down. Yes. Quiet activities. Laundry. Tidying up. Keeping the fire going in the wood stove. Fed the llamas after they'd given up and taken shelter under the junipers. Engaged in instant-message smalltalk and laughs with a fellow blogger, a pleasantly antisocial social exchange. Not nearly enough fun around here. And I did complete my little essay-paragraph, "Why I Blog." Here's a question: Why do you? I really wasn't sure until I started writing it today. Strange how that works. I'll share my own answer with you at a later date. Napped with Apple in the Big Soft Chair during a New Dimensions interview with the author of What Would Jefferson Do?. Painlessly absorbing some much-needed facts. I took the leftover cold rice and made a sweet little dessert--simmered it with sugar and half-and-half and frozen peaches, added a drop of vanilla and a drop of almond extract, sprinkled it with sugar-cinnamon. Mm. Still working on it. I still haven't tracked down that Acrobat disk, but I got my main Photoshop work done yesterday and part of this afternoon. And the CD drive of my computer miraculously sprang back to life for no discernable reason. This evening I'll finish watching Laurel Canyon. Go upstairs and change all the bedsheets. Curl up with some A. S. Byatt essays that arrived in the mail last week. Listen to Philip Glass. This was an excellent Sunday. Blizzards. Computer cures. Hilarious conversations. Somebody likes us today. 7:44:48 PM |
