Things are better and better over at the new system software. But I can't use iTunes on it; have to upgrade. And ditto Userland for now. It's going to be a complicated transition, I fear, and I don't want to lose any archived posts just yet. Wanted to point out the New Moon to folks. I realized it in the middle of the night when I was wrestling with sleeplessness. At 3 a.m. a moment of clarity--oh, that's right, it's New Moon time. No weird dreams--I never got much of a purchase on sleep; just sort of slipped and slid around on sleep's surface and dreamed shallow ugly scenarios of little consequence except repeatedly to force me awake in disgust. I finished the Ted Hughes biography at 4 or 5, sky just coming up turquoise behind the black ridge, and slept finally with tears drying on my face. Too sleepy to work on the new poem that did come to me in the night--New Moon didn't fail me there--but it's still mostly in my head and I'll rough something out before I crash tonight.
Nothing exciting here. News of the world still mostly sad, according to the newscasts I hear. Here the willows are becoming dry enough to hisshiss when the wind blows, and the tiny little trouts still school in the shallowing creek water, and |
