I just found out that my American Studies professor was on the O'Reilly Factor last Friday night. He and a film professor were on; the topic of discussion was violence in movies, particularly Kill Bill and the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. My prof said that the experience was really surreal - he sat in this giant dark room when they taped him. Those cheap bastards didn't give him a tape. When he managed to catch himself on the show, he said there was a added in flag backdrop, making him out to be some great conservative voice (which he's not). I asked him if O'Reilly told him to shut up. The answer was no, but there were times when he wanted to tell Bill to. Speaking of Leatherface, you can read the history of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I have to hand it to Joe Bob Briggs (even with his facile boob counts and excessive love of excessive gore) - the guy knows his stuff. Among the more interesting things in the "Complete, Comprehensive and True Story of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre," are the fact that John Larroquette is doing the monologue intro, the film was financed by a Texas politician, and the same mob group that distributed Deep Throat also had the distribution rights to this.
