WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I am seeing and hearing about several significant changes in how companies do foreign filing, especially Japanese and EP countries.  The trends include these three:

1.  Companies are hiring their own attorneys/agents to do their filing in significant countries for them;

 2.  Companies are hiring their own counsel in foreign countries and are not relying upon local counsel to select and contract with the foreign firms;

 3.  The Onda Techno firm, based in Japan, indicates that foreign firms are hiring their own attorneys/agents in foreign countries--i.e.. the US is the India of Japan when it comes to legal fees so Onda is hiring its own US agents/attorneys to do US prosecution for Onda's Asian clients.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on the relationships of law firms for foreign prosecution?
