OK this is just totally fucked up. I can't imagine why the US media hasn't picked up on this; maybe it'd be unpatriotic to question the use of napalm in Iraq.

Does Russert think GW had what it took to be commander-in-chief when he couldn't answer any questions pertaining to world affairs when running for the job? Once again there's the total hypocricy from the media when it comes to Democrats...Russert tries to make Dean look bad:

"For me to have to know right now, participating in the Democratic Party [primary], how many troops are actively on duty in the United States military-when that is actually a number that's composed both of people on duty today and people who are in the National Guard . . . it's silly," Dean said. "That's like asking me who the ambassador to Rwanda is."

"Oh, no, no, no. Not at all," Russert replied. "Not if you want to be commander in chief."

When Russert interviewed Bush he gave Bush numbers, asked him powder puff questions and let him off easy. Why even pretend to be unbiased then Tim? Why not have a moronic right wing rant show then if you just want to coddle the GOP and crumble the Dems? Perhaps because it helps the GOP more if you PRETEND to be a "real" journalist and not another right wing yes-man.

Ok...I realize everyone knew the war was about oil (or that at very least we wouldn't be so concerned about Sadaam's regime if we had more control over his oil) but this is just sickening (and predictable). This article discusses the President's executive order pertaining to US oil companies involved in Iraq...basically:

the president's order appears to place U.S. corporations above the law for any activities related to Iraq oil, either in that country or in the United States.

This friggin' thing was signed on May 22...Wonderful isn't it how our "liberal media" is so astute and ready to jump down the throat of the White House whenever they have a chance-oh wait that was during Clinton! Silly me....These scumbags think they're above the law and they essentially ARE because the mainstream press isn't paying any attention. They're to busy waving flags themselves to help defend the rights and values the flag IS SUPPOSED to represent! Common Dreams is great but it only reaches a tiny percentage of the population. No one in mainstream America seems to believe anything if it isn't on the TV news...! WHY DOESN'T THE STUPID MEDIA PAY ATTENTION!!!!! WHY HAVEN'T THEY ALL BEEN FIRED; THEY AREN'T DOING A GOOD JOB!!!!!!
