So Rush Limbaugh's causing some controversy by saying Donovan McNabb's overrated because the media (the librul media?) wants to see a black quarterback do well. I think it's good that Rush is exposing his racial bias early in the season and all...It's just a pretty dumb thing (imagine that!) to say...
Let's forget McNabb for a minute. Are there any other black quarterbacks in the league? Many in the media as well as the casual football fan might mention Steve McNair and Duante Culpepper as a couple of pretty impressive black quarterbacks. There's no real media NEED to celebrate McNabb just because he's black; they could just fall back on these guys! Does anyone rave about Kordell Stewart? Don't you just get sick of all the raving about Tony Banks? C'mon Rush, just cause they're black certainly doesn't mean the media likes 'em!
But let's also remember McNabb's done a pretty good job with his team! They've won a lot of games in the last few years and if you want to say it's all their defense...well...McNabb's averaged 21 TD passes over the last three seasons (a lot more than say...Dilfer did when he won the super bowl). He's also averaged well over 6 yards a carry and almost 5 rushing TD's over the same period. You can't say that about Manning or Favre (great as they are)...The game of football has changed. We have quarterbacks who are as dangerous when running as passing. It makes it harder to defend them no? Seems like a pretty sweet addition to an offense to have that option!
Rush just started at square one (the media likes McNabb) who Rush thinks is overrated and jumped to the conclusion that it MUST be because he's BLACK and there's a BIAS to LOVE black quarterbacks...So Rush is there to equally balance out the bias the other way huh? I don't know if Rush is racist (I have my suspicions) but it's pretty clear he's looking for liberal conspiracies in the realm of football just like he does elsewhere and he's full of his usual crap.

OK...if this weren't so sad it might be funny but the White House is pledging to look into the leak that exposed Joseph Wilson's wife as a CIA agent. Obviously as this was done as revenge for his criticism of the White House, any second grader could see there might be a conflict of interest going on here. Gee...I wonder if they'll find out who did it (wink wink).

This thing has Karl Rove's greasy fingerprints all over it and in the spirit of the times, as this IS a national security issue, perhaps we should ship him to Guantanamo Bay as an enemy combattant. Generally when a Democratic administration does something that goes against national security there is kind of a bit of a hoo-hah raised about it. One might say that some would call 'em traitors or treasonous even...you know like they did when people questioned the rush to war in Iraq to stop Saudi terrorists...Once again, IT'S A GOOD THING THEY'RE NOT DEMOCRATS! Maybe that should be the name of this blog; it sure seems to come up a lot...
