Kerry's turn Kerry's speech was received "politely" by the American Legion. Where Bush made jokes about "his opponent", Kerry laid out a point by point exposition of the ways the president had screwed up the war in Iraq and the different choices Kerry would have made. Bush made the audience laugh-- Kerry made them think. Neither mentioned Viet Nam, to everyone's relief. What really matters most here in Nashville, however, is that Kerry tied up the evening rush hour traffic-- there were no reports of Bush doing the same. Could be a bad sign. Also, the Tennessean shows its bias by removing the text of Kerry's speech from their web site. (I'm pretty sure it was there yesterday. But even if it wasn't, why not?
