A picture named bigfoot.jpg

One step at a time...

I've never done anything athletic in my whole life, but I've decided to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by walking the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco at the end of October.

That means I'll be walking 26.2 miles in under 7 hours!

I can't imagine doing much of anything for 7 hours straight, much less walking (at an average rate of 4 miles/hr)!

But I'm going to do it.

I signed up for the "Team in Training" program last night. My goal is to raise $3,800. And in the process, I will get an organized way to get in shape, to meet new people, and to accomplish what for me will be a truly remarkable goal.

The program kicks off at the end of the month. I'll get a coach and a mentor and a group of like-minded people (a team, really) to work out with.

And on Oct 23rd, I'll be in San Francisco, completing a marathon!

The Italian for today is sorprendente. It means: amazing!
