"The trouble is that you think you have time."

(from "Offerings: Buddhist Wisdome for Every Day,")

Yesterday was my first day of training for the San Francisco marathon. I'm doing this with the help of Team in Training (which raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). We started slow--just 30 minutes, walking at a comfortable pace. My guess is that I covered about 1.5 miles.

Tonight I'll do a T'ai Chi class as my cross-training exercise. Tues is a rest day, then Wed, Thurs and Friday are 30-minute days. Saturday we meet in the park, and we'll go for 45 minutes.

It's a very do-able way to start. But it builds up fast.

I'll keep you posted.

Miles this week: 1.5
Total miles: 1.5

I still don't have my Team in Training web site set up, but when I do, I'll post it here in case anyone would like to donate to the cause.
