A picture named atticbed.jpg

The hardest part is getting out of bed.

I walked 10 miles on Sunday and then had Monday off. I was supposed to walk 3 miles yesterday, but I just could not get out of bed. (It was raining and it was dark and I was tired and blah, blah, blah. I just couldn't do it.)

And it was almost as bad this morning.

But I did it. I got up and walked the 3 miles that's on my schedule for today. I had to trick myself into it by telling myself that I didn't have to go the full 3 miles if I didn't feel like it. But of course, as soon as I got going, it wasn't all that tough to just go ahead and do the whole thing.

I thought the hardest part of training for this marathon was going to be the wear and tear on my feet. Or my knees. Or my back.

But it's a head thing, really.

If I can just get over my inertia, I think I could probably do just about anything.

Training Update:
Today's miles: 3
This week's miles: 16
Total miles: 162
